I bought a new car. It didn't take as long as I thought it would. I was being picky so the car I wanted (a duplicate of the one that was crashed… specifically a Black 2007 Ford Focus Hatchback) was not available in all of New York State. Fortunately I found a dealer willing to shop around and found one in Missouri for a reasonable price. I took her for a spin and she fit like a glove. So I brought her home.
Funny how personal a car can be. It is important though. It is your home as you travel to places that are not your home. A lot of time and energy is expended buying a car and then keeping it in working order. How it feels on the road is something you become accustomed to such that you object to the way other vehicles handle. It is familiar. Sure a car is just a thing, but the one you pick is an extension of yourself, much like what kinds of clothes you wear.
Hopefully I can make this one last more than 3 months!
Once a year, for the past 20 years, I spend one day trimming some ladies' bushes. I have become quite gifted I think, trimming to near perfection. It makes them happy and although I would do it for free, they insist on paying me. It is a hot, sweaty, messy job that most people would quickly refuse, but it needs to be done, at least yearly so I pull out my trimmer…
Hey wait a minute! Get you mind out of the gutter. I am talking about hedges! Yew bushes specifically. You people! *Scoff* Unbelievable.
Moving on (you sickos… I mean we're talking about my mom here among "the ladies"… *vomits a little in mouth*)… I listened to The Strokes almost the whole time, so I think it is only fitting to select one of their songs.
A chill, moving, steady beat, and St. Germain lures you in. Before you know it, you're listening to some acid jazz. Perfect for a chill Saturday morning.
