Hexes and Ohs – "Little Bird" (2008)

After voting yesterday, I think it was waste of 5 minutes.
Our election system is clearly broken when people are so unhappy with their government, yet incumbent after incumbent wins re-election. On the local level, in my area of Rochester, NY, the elected positions might as well be lifetime appointments. But whatever. It was only 5 minutes, and as usual, nothing will change. The local politicians will give us back a small portion of our taxes and we will thank them for it. (re: The obviously incredibly stupid "New York State School Tax Relief Program" where they take our property taxes and then give us some back so they can look like they have a purpose. Why take it in the first place?) The state will get poorer and poorer. The federal government will fight over mosques in NYC to distract the public from all the corporate socialism, the war, the lack of jobs, and any of the real issues of the day.
…and as long as I avoid the news, it will have no direct affect on my life. I can close my eyes and listen to the little birds sing.
