For months now, I can't seem to help but listen to Florence + The Machine. I've been a huge October Project fan for years, and Florence + The Machine reminds me of them. Florence + The Machine has the sweeping ballads but with an edge that'll cut out your heart and drink your blood. Beautiful and dark.
I just can't wait for the next album, allegedly due this year!
G and I adopted a greyhound ex-racer last week! It has certainly been a source of some change, but the truth is the dog is so well behaved and so lazy that if we cannot handle this pup, then we cannot handle any! Aside from some barking and whining some mornings, he is a gentleman, though I am sure as we and he get more comfortable he will push boundaries. I am excited though. I've wanted a doggie for years.
Can you dig it? We can dig it!
PS: This song came up because we had to save a sample for the vet. I left a sign on it for G that said "Poop! (There it is!)".
Sometimes I say "Zoop" when I am making my Soup, but G only hears "Shoop" …and then proceeds to have this song stuck in her head for a week. Hee hee. The power of soup!
Today is my last day of a job that has made me more scatterbrained than I could've ever imagined. Over 8 months I have worked with about 200 people, responsible for about 60 applications, picking up the slack for my coworker, who left 5 months ago. I have learned a lot and I have enjoyed my window office, but otherwise I think I am happy to move on. I am optimistic that freeing my mind will help me to focus more on the things that are really important.
Thus, I would like to dedicate this selection to my wife, G. (One of her favorites from Vampire Weekend.)
PS: Any of you Paul Simon fans out there should really check out "Contra". You'll love it. Trust me!
