You know it. You love it. You have to sing along to it. I say so. Otherwise you might want to ask yourself if the child inside you has died.
Here is the version I learned (with added exclamations)…
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (reindeer)
Had a very shiny nose (like a light bulb)
And if you ever saw it (saw it)
You would even say it glowed
All of the other reindeer (reindeer)
Used to laugh and call him names (like Pinocchio)
They never let poor Rudolph (Rudolph)
Join in any reindeer games (like Monopoly)
Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say (Ho, ho, ho)
Rudolph with your nose so bright
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight
Then how the reindeer loved him (loved him)
And they shouted out with glee (like toothpaste)
Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer (reindeer)
You'll go down in history…(like Columbus)
Oh and although George Washington is perhaps a more pure figure historically, it just does not roll off the tongue the way "like Columbus" does.
Perhaps you learned another variation? I found several "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" variations here.
Also check out the cover (and stop animation) by Destiny's Child in 2004 in the style of the original stop motion animated TV Special.
