Now I know some of you may be thinking? What!? Fergie? For real?
For real.
When I first saw Fergie it was on a live "After New Year's" party on TV. At the time she struck me as a "has been before she even was" kind of artist. I've come around though because her music is just good fun. Her music is crude and unpolished, and she uses all the sex appeal she can to gain notoriety. She'll never get any love from the critics out there, but as she says in the song, "I don't give a fuck, so here we go!".
I think her "style" has been crafted to give it the edge that makes some people's upper lip curl. She's been in the Music business for quite some time. First in a Rhythm and Blues trio "Wild Orchid" during the 90s include 4 albums, then working with the "The Black Eyed Peas" for a couple, until she released her solo album, "The Duchess", which has sold over 8 Million copies. She is no fool.
I also love her cover/extrapolation of The Temptations "Get Ready", named "Here I Come".
