Album of the Week: Ladyhawke – "Ladyhawke" (2008)

I've been consistently listening to this album since I got it in March. I have especially found it to be an excellent album to exercise and run to. I am a sucker for New Wave, and this album reminds me of the New Wave of the 80s over and over. I love it. On top of that, I have found the album to be solid enough that I never skip any of the songs. I would be remiss not to add this one to my "Must Own Albums" list. Ladyhawke (AKA Phillipa Brown from New Zealand) is already working on her next album. I cannot wait.

Ladyhawke – "Magic" (2008)

A couple weeks ago I downloaded Ladyhawke's album on whim from eMusic after listening to a clip of "Magic". Her album is a gold mine. Definitely my latest find. I was listening to the album over and over yesterday. I still feel like I NEED more.
I love the beat, the electronic sound, the sort of retro thing she has going on at times when she might be channeling some Cindi Lauper or some other 80s singer. In fact I've been having trouble deciding if "Magic", "Manipulating Woman", or "My Delirium" should be the song of the day. They are all SO good. Click them to listen to them all and you decide!
