I feel like a little night music. Don't you? That is what Mozart had intended "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" (AKA Serenade No. 13 in G) to be. Most people are familiar with the first movement "Allegro". It is truly a classic, heard in movies, television, advertising, and likely elevators around the world. It is also a common choice for anyone studying violin, viola or (in my case) cello.
It has a fun exacting quality to it too, quite appropriate to the work I had to perform from 9 PM until midnight this past evening. A little classical can go a long way to clearing the head on tasks requiring focus. You might think silence would be better, but I actually find silence more bothersome. It is almost as though for one half of my brain to focus on my work, the other half must be focused on something too, but does not care for problem solving and coding. No it prefers art, and musical art in particular. What better choice than Mozart is there for some clarity?
