Not a moment of downtime yesterday. It sucks. Perhaps I should steal a cheesecake truck, leave town, and start over. I wonder how one might go about that. I wonder if I can find a song to guide me?
….and apparently my tired state prevents me from being able to spell "cheesecake" and "missile". I misspelled every instance and had to up them all. Some twice! Oi! I don't know what a "chescale missle" is, but it is not right.

Colorblind James Experience – "Considering a Move to Memphis" (1987)

I'm considering a move to Memphis.
No, not really. I've never been to Tennessee actually. Most of the states all around it, but somehow I've missed that one.
What I am considering is a move from wordpress.com to somewhere else, probably my own hosted wordpress blog, just not at wordpress.com. I am still researching my options and weighing the pros and cons of moving away from the warm safe but restrictive bosom of wordpress.com. This is all very uncomfortable for me but staying within wordpress.com will not grant me the control I would like to have (ever it would appear). So be it. I must spread my wings and take flight.
This song has been my theme song as I sit here scouring the web for information and "how to's" on the subject. As part of the move I am also reviewing my registered domain options. The dot-com for MSotD appears to be taken by some proxy registrar. In other words, it might as well not be available, ever. So I may have to go with something else entirely. I may have to give my blog a new name to match too.
As always, I am open to any suggestions you may have on the topic OR any suggestions of what you would like my blog to include too! I am here for myself, but I also want all you peeps out there to be happy campers too with my "song a day" and "album a week" services. As a "DJ" or sorts I will drive the musical bus, but I am am flexible to requests and your thoughts.
PS: Up to this point I have only referred to myself as being in the Northeastern USA, but this song and the band is from my hometown so I'd like to pay tribute to my home town, Rochester, NY, where Chuck Cuminale and his band "Colorblind James Experience" created this song.

2009/11/03Today is Election Day here in the USA and I don't know about everyone else, but I am sick of politics, politicians, and elections in general. I think it is time for a constitutional convention at the county level, the state level, and the national level. Common sense has apparently "left the building" and the change we are promised year after year is insufficient or in the wrong directions. It is unacceptable and I vote we tell them all that they are all fired and we start over!
Outlaw the political parties. Remove the power of corporations, lobbyists, and the American plutocracy, and give that power back to the people. It is all about "We the People" after all. Change the focus from getting rich to the pursuit of happiness and quality of life. Make sustainability a priority. We need big change but our leaders are too chicken-shit to do more than twist a couple knobs on a broken system. They are weak.
Time for big change. Real change. …Time for a revolution. Turn off your TV too because…
The revolution will not be televised.

Hats off to my friend PK for passing this one on to me. I've been avoiding politics and political themed songs for a while now, but this one is good! A must listen for all you United States of America Citizens out there.
After Obama was elected I gave out a sigh of relief. I trust the Democrats a lot more than the obviously selfish, obviously hypocritical, obviously untrustworthy, and probably evil Republican Party (some are obviously evil, some are just probably). I am however vastly disappointed in both parties and politicians in general. So many problems seem preventable or solvable if we can control peoples' greed and fear. But politicians are generally a fearful and greedy group. My grandmother always referred to them all as crooks and liars, and I agree with her. Even though we "elect" them they are not to be trusted. Too easily they seem to forget about The United States Constitution's first sentence, and particular the part that says "promote the general Welfare". The word is PROMOTE. Look it up!
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Our politicians have sold out to corporations and Wall Street. We, the people, are only involved once every few years to decide which crooks will be elected. Crook A or Crook B. That is the choice we get. Watch "The Corporation".
I'm with Joeyess. "The dirty fucking hippies were right." Are right. And probably will continue to be right, until we replace the criminals running the country!!!
PS: I'm not 100% sure how to classify this, but Spoken Word meets Progressive Rock seems about right.
