I always thought this was about a relationship, but apparently it is supposed to be about an earthquake. I guess the two are synonymous though!

This is the song my band was supposed to be practicing. We thought it would be an easy one to duplicate. We seem to have trouble forming any coherent band practice schedule. Perhaps I should work on that.

The Pixies – "Where Is My Mind" (1988)

I woke up at 4 this morning. I tried to go back to sleep for an hour. Failed. I kept thinking of the movie Fight Club. I generally consider the movie inspirational, but sometimes I wonder if that is a good thing. For example when Tyler Durden takes the clerk out back and threatens the clerk's life if he doesn't pursue his dream of becoming a veterinarian. It seems like the sort of thing that should happen. I wonder what I would say were I the clerk. Would I pursue my dreams? I suppose I would have to know what they are first.

Also I love the scene at the end, with buildings crumbling and this song playing. If insanity has a soundtrack, this song should be on it.
